Trinity North Park Startup Kit

Trinity is in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego, famous for it’s trendy microbreweries, restaurants, and walkable neighborhoods. Their church strategy emphasizes two groups: spiritually curious millennials with little history in the church, and then ex-vangelicals. Their pastor, Rev. Matt Hambrick, is particularly gifted in ministering to both. In fact, they grew in these demographics during the year of COVID.


Trinity’s Intro Package (their countdown and “About Us” video) goes a long way in telling people what matters to their community. Because Trinity knew who they wanted to emphasize in this communication, they were able to speak more clearly.

Strategy Tip:

Even though most churches would welcome anyone of any demographic who came to visit, wise churches know their demographic emphases. Ideally, this comes from a discipleship plan, and not fears (“We just need more young families!”) That helps a local church succeed. Oh, and it helps us actually create these videos!
